Dubbed Lab Online; it is a web application that currently allows for the viewing of patients' results, generation of reports (clinical and statistical), and ordering of services. This marks another milestone in the use of technology in the laboratory and an ever growing connected world. Lab Online is provided in collaboration with local healthcare information technology company MLE (MedicaL Exchange) Limited. By using the power of the internet, Microlabs is now able to allow clients* access to information from virtually anywhere in the world; thereby helping to make better decisions to effect the best possible outcome and higher quality of care. |
Expansion of Electrophoresis

Microlabs has expanded their electrophoresis capabilities with the acquisition of a new Helena QuickScan 2000 Electrophoresis Workstation. The QuickScan 2000 introduces a slew of improvements including:
- Editing via Network
- Flatbed Densitometery
- Improved scan speeds
- Barcoded Gels of better sample identification
This addition will allow Microlabs to perform electrophoresis more accurately and faster than before; thus improving turnaround times for our most valued assets - our patients. |

Expansion of ANA testing

Microlabs has expanded its menu of Autoimmune Antibody tests (ANA) by offering Extractable Nuclear Antibody (ENA) panel by ELISA. The panel consists of Jo1, Sm, SS-A (Anti-Ro), SS-B (Anti-La), Scl-70 and Sm/RNP. In addition to the auto-antibodies in the panel, we are are also offering Ds-DNA as a separate auto-antibody by ELISA. All tests are quantitatively reported in AAU/ml.
ENA panel is done on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the main laboratory. Sample requirement is 2ml of non-haemolyzed serum. The qualitative ANA panel by immunodot assay is also done thrice weekly in the main laboratory.
